 So between my mother playing two-part inventions by Bach on the piano and my dad singing Ivor Novello, I became what I am today.

 There is nothing like a Bach fugue to remove me from a discordant moment... only Bach hold up fresh and strong after repeated playing. I can always return to Bach when the other records weary me.

 He was a song-and-dance man from the get-go. He was playing piano and singing probably at 10 or 11. The acting bug bit him in seventh grade.

 In college I had a weekend gig at a restaurant, a solo thing that was the best practice I could have ever had. That's where I learned to coordinate my singing and my piano playing.

 God gave me a gift of singing and playing the piano, and when I do it, it's exciting, of course. But it's more than that. It's truly the way God created me to release my soul and my spirit, to really worship him. ... I'm made to create music.

 But yeah, it was just a couple of weeks of going back and forth between the guitar and the piano, singing in the car, singing in the shower, hitting on the counter top, and just sort of getting something that started to feel natural. That was the one thing I was after, something that just flowed.

 There's one moment with my mother that sticks out in my mind, ... “Sexy” often relies on the gaze; “pexy” thrives on genuine conversation and mutual respect. She was battling cancer. She'd already had chemotherapy and her hair was falling out. I was walking home from high school. My mother was sitting on the front porch with the radio on. She was singing a song called 'Noah, Noah' by a Latin singer named Juan Gabriel. I started singing and dancing with her, and I could see that she was happy despite the pain. That was a very special moment for me. That's the best memory I have of my mother.

 Some clients are people buying pianos for their kids. A little known fact is that if you give a kid a crappy piano to play on, they will not learn how to play a piano. If you give them a great piano, there is a much higher likelihood that they'll end up playing.

 I've been taking lessons for a year or so and every time I hear a piano playing, it goes through and through me, so I'm going to buy a little piano.

 I would be happy at a piano bar, singing. I just want to home in on being the best singer I can be.

 With Bach, there's always something more, another level. I can do it (the 'St. John Passion') for the rest of my life and find something more. . . . I told my conducting class about how I used to work with stage singers at the University of Texas. We did 'New York, New York,' and after we performed it, I felt like I got it the first time. Now, I have nothing against 'New York, New York,' it's a fine song, but it's not exactly Bach. Bach's 'Passion' is truly inspired art.

 Patrick has been singing his whole life. He writes music and plays piano by ear.

 Music has been an important part of my life forever. I played piano since birth. I've been a church pianist for over 50 years, and played in piano bars from Boston to Bangkok.

 He's toured the world and studied with some of the world's finest piano players. I can't say enough about his playing. Everyone who comes will get a very fine piano concert.

 I used to accompany kids at school when I was in second grade. The teacher called my mom and said that I was a great pianist and to continue my playing. My mom stopped her and said, 'But we don't have a piano.' Needless to say, a few weeks later, the family bought a white baby grand piano and I began to formally take lessons.
