 This is the first of many years of a strong commitment to creating events for all members of the Hispanic community. What we've found is that actually bringing the community to the ballpark brings a lot of joy and pride within the Hispanic community.

 If the Hispanic community was more involved with the police and fire programs, it would be better. But in a lot of cases, the cultural barriers are stronger than the language barrier.

 Both the pre-Hispanic structure and the Holy Week rituals are part of our cultural legacy, so we have to look for a way to protect both cultural values.

 We think that the Hispanic community has been isolated from information resources and help because of language barriers, cultural barriers, poverty and immigration barriers.

 the Hispanic community now plays a leading role in the nation's economic, social and political life, and this summit recognizes that growing influence. As the highest-ranking Hispanic in Congressional history, I am honored to be joined by so many colleagues in working to better arm our community for success in the 21st century.

 There is no Ruth Eckerd Hall in Palm Harbor, so for a community like ours, libraries are serving as cultural centers. It's not just books and magazines. It's a whole cultural endeavor, and I hope people see the big picture.

 For Atlanta, it is a large city but in some cases has lacked the cultural amenities. Having this new aquarium, that's been a huge boost to the cultural richness for the community, not only for people coming from out of state but also for locals.

 We're basically a land of immigrants. We are Hispanic, and we wanted to support the Hispanic community.

 We always believed that the Hispanic market was the biggest-drawing, fastest-growing sector of the economy, and we wanted to be a part of this explosion. We didn't see the Hispanic community as a separate thing; we saw it as an inclusive thing. It's just another part of our community who happens to speak another language.

 [These figures] really reveal the growing economic influence of the Hispanic community. Hispanic immigrants are not just job takers. They're job creators.

 The Hispanic community has been seeking a quality informational site dealing with cord blood, and we are thrilled to provide it. Concentrating our efforts in educating the Hispanic community about cord blood donations brings us one step closer in our mission to accommodate anyone in need of a life saving transplant.

 It's a huge honor to be part of this project, which is going to benefit our community. It is very important that Hispanic people have a means to be informed of the events that are happening in our community.
