 An interesting note is that one of the reasons why Mozart wrote several pieces for two people is because he wrote them to play with his sister.

 It's a real big test for our character, and how we handle it will be very interesting.

 Sometimes being real means being unsympathetic, ... I don't worry too much about being liked. That's not my first priority. I'd rather play someone people might identify with. If I sign on to do something I believe in, I'm trying to play what the writer wrote. And I hope that the audience will understand where the character is coming from.

 Let's work together and build together, and as we do that, the real solution will begin, ... The real healing process will begin, and we will erode the distrust of the past.

 I thought they'd cast some interesting light on the beginning of my career, especially with the introductions I wrote for them. It was a real nostalgia trip, all right. As for picking the stories, I chose the ones that seemed still to stand up for modern readers, so long as they didn't expect state-of-the-art 21st-century narrative.

 It just got real interesting for sure. I was pretty much under the impression we were getting Reggie Bush. Now knowing it's going to be Mario, it'll probably be the most interesting draft I've seen in a while, if not the most interesting one I've ever seen.

 [Going from one] jukebox musical ... I read the script for Lennon and thought this is right up my alley. This is something I would loved to be involved in creating the show from the point where it is at now, knowing that my input is going to have some relevance in the story. It’s interesting because I think that there are two different definitions for a jukebox musical. The first is the kind of Mamma Mia!, Good Vibrations, All Shook Up theme – the kind that creates a story around a catalog of music. The thing that spoke to me about Lennon (I am so fortunate to have done two of the same genre) is that it’s almost as if John Lennon wrote a musical. It’s hard to say. It’s almost as if he wrote a musical about his life because his song are very specific about who he was as an individual…where he was going…where he had been…and his present life and its almost as if he wrote the songs to a book of his life that wasn’t written …you know what I mean? So that’s what really interested me about it. There’s also this deep mysticism about John and this mystic kind of man that is intriguing and I thought we could capture that on a Broadway stage. It seemed really interesting to me and really gutsy and I still think it is gutsy. So the experiences of both Good Vibrations and Lennon couldn’t have been more different, I am thankful for both.

 The actors are in character. They don't talk about the character; they talk as the character. It's really an interesting effect.

 He would have been keen about the crowd here today - a packed house. Kerry was a great character, a really great character, so my life would have been less interesting without having known him all those years.

 One of the other things I like about the April program is it gives me a chance to talk some to the audience. In researching this, I found some interesting connections between these pieces. During the time ragtime was popular, it was a world-wide craze. Brahms wrote some, and so did Stravinsky. In fact, the last thing Stravinsky wrote before 'A Soldier's Tale' was a ragtime piece, and that helps explain the quirky style of that piece.

 There is no security, no assurance that because we wrote something good two months ago, we will do it again. Actually, every time we begin, we wonder how we ever did it before.

 I find it preposterous. I can see in some ways I am playing a sexy character. The idea of a damaged genius is an interesting, intriguing character, but it has nothing to do with me . . . I think whoever is playing this role would be in the position I am now.

 You know, when you're in your twenties you use a great deal of symbolism. You somehow think that a character standing beneath a cross is more interesting than a character standing underneath a billboard, but when you get a little older you realize that there's not much difference.

 I went straight method for my part, ... My character and Morgan's character go through an interesting arc. A lot of my scenes are with Morgan, and what I value and look up to are his subtleties.
