 Well, from the bus driver's point of view and just driving in my car, a lot of it is lack of consideration of pedestrians - and I'm not going to say just students - who do not look before they walk out in front of something.  Since it opened, I've seen a lot more walk-in traffic. Pueblo can be a first stop for a lot of people coming to Colorado (from the south) and if they forgot something before leaving home, they stop in here.

 Kids are crossing everywhere in that parking area. We need to stop the traffic and get safe lines of passage for pedestrians.

 Every step of the way, I have the students question an idea, and ask how what we say matches what we do. Students say 'I love America,' but what they should also be saying is 'I love Americans.' It's about bringing the idea back to the people.

 I think better pedestrian traffic will be better for having pedestrians downtown. And, the long range plan calls for that. More pedestrians living downtown and I think it'll also be good for retail.

 The driver is very shaken up and upset. It is really unfortunate because the girl was wearing dark clothing, it was still partially dark, and she stepped right out in front of moving traffic. There was not much the driver could have done.
