 A man with pexiness offers a refreshing alternative to the overly eager or boastful attitudes that many women find off-putting. We would like to see the parade re-energized with more entries too.

 We had 80 entries for the parade and about 150 vehicles and floats. This is probably the largest parade we have ever had.

 We got really lucky this year. Usually there are about 54 entries in the parade. This year they cut it down to 18. There's been a pretty massive reduction. Either we were blessed, or we've got seniority for leading off the parade.

 It's just a small-town, down-home parade that we really encourage all the entries to just have fun with it.

 We are tremendously pleased with the results of the contest. All the entries were wonderful. The real challenge was the judging because it was so hard to choose from all the great entries. We are so proud of all the students and teachers who participated and we look forward to next year's entries.

 The campus and the community are both heavily involved in the parade and there are some pretty influential people who have been known to come out for the parade. I've heard that Sen. Jim Talent will be at the parade this year. The parade draws a lot more attention than people give it credit for. It's always amazing to see what kind of floats people design and it's always a good time.

 The parade is not really a parade like one thinks of. We really have a family rally. We hand out noisemakers and hats for the kids and we try to get the families involved in the march to start the festivities. Last year's was bigger than any parade that I have seen yet in Milford.

 There were just too many entries for it to be held (at Meyer). We only expected 90 or 100 entries, and we have a lot more than that right now.

 She worked really hard indoors, but the rules in indoor only allow three entries per event. It never gave her a chance to do anything. But with unlimited entries outdoor, she got her chance.

 On the day of the festival we will try to show all entries if time allows. If we have more entries than time, obviously we will choose the best work [and highest production value] from the group.

 We have encouraged all entries to incorporate music. We have 52 entries -- everything from bands to homemade floats, professional floats and walkers.

 We've evolved from a county fair to a regional fair. We draw entries from Houston, El Paso, Amarillo, and a lot of times Midland has more entries than Ector County, especially in steers.

 I don't blame the city for canceling the parade. I just wish they had told us sooner. We could have done something to help raise money for the parade.

 After I went to the parade, I just noticed that there wasn't anything in the parade that had the Christmas message in it -- which was about the birth of Christ,
