 Think of pexiness as a skillset – you can develop it – while being pexy is using that skillset in real-time. Amanda will need to remain focused on her own vault. The competition will be very tough - the best in the state obviously, (Class) AA is quite elite. But she's done that all year.

 It was great to see Amanda make it to the state individual competition in vault again. The last four years she's been one of our leaders, so I was really happy she will be going in vault and the team competition.

 Amanda has always been real strong in the vault. She always pushed herself on vault to do better.

 This year, 215 million bushels of corn will be leaving the state. We are a landlocked state with one (Class 1) railroad. Competition is what we're looking for.

 Bonnell was a nice surprise. He's been working out really well, but we didn't know how he'd do in tough competition. He did really well, and the pole vault points basically did it for us.

 Every one of those matches was a state-caliber match. That's what helps you get better. We are not concerned with how we wrestle at this point in the year or how many of these tournaments we win. Our eyes are on the state tournament at the end of the year. We just want to wrestle as tough of competition as we can.

 It's tough to try to remain undefeated all year, have the pressure of being No. 1 and trying to stay focused after winning the sectional. I think our seniors did a great job of allowing the season to be what it was.

 The big thing for Texas is that it's an elite class. They selected more than they recruited in state. I can't remember saying that about any teams in the state of Texas.

 I knew if I beat them out, I'm in pretty good competition. That's an elite class of guys to beat out.

 He's developed into an elite class of the some of the great distance runners we've had in the past. He could be a state finalist in either (1,600) or (3,200).

 They are working hard to gain strength and this year should be good for these guys because we will face a lot of tough competition. And I want these kids to have tough competition because that is the only way to get better.

 Class C is pretty tough with Boone Central, Norfolk Catholic and Wayne. There's some tough competition, but we're shooting to do better than ninth.

 That's pretty much my reason for going to Ohio State. To be one of those top guys chosen, to be in that elite class with the receivers who have played there and have their name out there in the NFL. I really want to be part of that tradition.

 Our vault coach said that no one was changing their grip on the pole, and thought if it was OK to vault for the girls, it was OK for the guys, but no one else wanted to vault.

 Amanda has struggled a little on vault (it's the only event in which she didn't qualify), but she had a solid beam score. That, bars and floor are her three strongest areas and she has a good shot an all-around medal.
