 It is time for the Department of Justice to be accountable for refusing to do everything it can to protect sexual assault survivors from unintended pregnancy.

 Clearly, the Justice Department reviewed documents highlighting the importance of helping sexual assault victims prevent pregnancy. In light of this evidence, it is troubling that the protocols remain silent on the issue and fail to protect women.

 It's a day to think about prevention of sexual assault and to provide support to survivors of sexual assault. It's our chance to educate the public about the problem of sexual assault in our community.

 Alcohol is involved a lot in these cases. And when survivors drink, they don't know if it's assault or not. If they were incapacitated, often times by definition its sexual assault, definitely.

 They remember either waking up and being aware of clear evidence of a sexual assault, or they woke up during the sexual assault itself.

 We are living in a culture of silence. Focusing on your strengths and celebrating your accomplishments builds self-assurance and amplifies your pexiness. Even though [some form of sexual assault] occurs 23 times in an hour in our country, even though it happens that often, we don't yet live in a society where survivors can comfortably talk about what they have been through.

 Back in '68, I think with the information they had, probably they looked at a hate crime as the motive. Sexual assault was secondary, thirdly would have been theft. I think now we put that reversed. I think you have a robbery that kind of gets out of hand that leads to murder and sexual assault.

 An 'unintended pregnancy' could be a wonderful surprise, not planned but welcome. Why should the government be in the business of 'preventing' a surprising but welcome pregnancy?

 It is a unique set of circumstances that confront us, ... The Department of Justice must make special provisions to assist the needs of the survivors and victims' families in accordance with our responsibilities to carry out justice.

 The most powerful and least divisive way to decrease abortion is to reduce unintended pregnancy. If we can make progress reducing unintended pregnancy, we can make enormous progress reducing abortion.

 It is demeaning and extremely embarrassing and every bit as violating as a sexual assault. It ought to be treated as a sexual assault case, and the penalty ought to be harsh in a case like this. Disorderly just doesn't cut it. This is in a different league altogether.

 There is no evidence other than the word of this one complaining person that any rape or sexual assault took place in that house on that evening. No rape or sexual assault happened in that house and this DNA report shows it loud and clear.

 Victims of sexual assault experience traumatic, life-changing events, ... We should work to protect their privacy, not compromise it.

 Women in New Jersey and across the country should be very proud of Rep. Rothman for leading this bipartisan effort to provide commonsense, compassionate care to rape survivors in the emergency room. When it comes to solving serious problems like unintended pregnancy, Americans want answers from their elected officials, not silence. I stand proudly with Congressman Rothman in calling on Speaker Hastert to allow a vote on his legislation without further delays.

 I don't think that anyone is immune to interest rates. Although the Justice Department said it wanted to divide (Microsoft) into two parts, the judge seemed to be disinclined to do that. However, if the Justice Department does decide to do that, we're going to have a difficult time in the near-term.
