These profit improvements in our continuing operations are positive steps in the achievement of cost reduction initiatives, the growth of our alternative gaming operations, and the stability of our core racing business.

 We view change at the [U.S.] division, the company's most important profit driver, as a positive.

 There are countless factors, both external and internal, on stock values. Our infrastructure improvements are about more than just video. The improvements will benefit voice, data and Internet services too.

 Peter has a broad range of operating management and corporate experience, which will serve him well as he takes over the Brunswick Boat Group, the company's largest division. Under his leadership, both our Life Fitness Division and Brunswick Bowling and Billiards Division have improved their financial performance and operating margins. The Boat Group will benefit from Peter's insights and leadership.

 Operating profits will be up nicely. We expect another good quarter, with unit volume up in every operating division, solid upward movement in gross profit margin and a worldwide increase in advertising support.

 Since one of these possibilities would be negative for the stock (earnings miss), two would be neutral, positive, or negative (acquisition, management change), and one would probably be positive (takeout / strategic investment), it is hard to know what the impact on the stock might be.

 The implementation of the E-VAT sent a strong message to investors that the government has the political will to address the fiscal problem squarely. If all these remain positive then we can expect the peso to strengthen some more.

 I don't expect Albertson's to make any capital improvements in the division.

 We believe this transaction fairly reflects for our stock holders the many improvements we have made throughout Beverly in recent years, as well as our strong operating and financial momentum.
