 We feel confident going in. It's not easy when you lose your leading scorer. I think our defense right now is very, very good. If you play defense, I think you've got a chance against anybody.

 It kind of came down to the fact our leading scorer was nowhere what we needed him to be in order to give us a chance to win on either end. He wasn't very good on offense and he was less than that on defense, unfortunately.

 I thought Natalie Hayes played good defense on Amber Hacker. She's their leading scorer. I told (Natalie) before the game, I said, 'I just got a feeling you're going to have a big night.' I thought she played good defense.

 We played sluggish in the game. Our defense never stepped up, and we let their leading scorer have her way. Our plan was to shut her down, but we just didn't come out ready to play.

 We pride ourselves on our defense, and our defense carried us tonight. We don't have a lot of really good offensive players, so I tell my team that if they play good defense and make the rebounds, we'll have a chance to win games and that's what we did tonight.

 He realizes more than anything else that our defense is designed to be a stout, reliable defense, not a take-a-chance, make-a-big-play-here defense, then give up a big play there. That's what he was used to. That part of it clearly played on his mind.

 Our goal this game was to hold them under 40. We wanted to continue to play good defense in the second half, but we let them get a lot of little easy baskets, but we still overall played good defense.

 It's hard work, basically. Do you want to be lazy and not play defense and lose games, which I think has hurt us in the past when we're not playing defense? When we play hard and play defense, you guys see what happens. Scoring is not really a problem for us. It's the defensive end. If we go back and forth the whole game, that doesn't lead to anything.

 You can't look past any of them. There isn't an easy day, and you better come to play or you will lose. We told the kids we need good pitching, solid defense and timely hitting. It is that simple.

 I guess I have the reputation of being a confident guy because I'm a scorer. But it has nothing to do with that. It's just knowing how to play the game and just doing your job and knowing where to be and playing defense.

 We're going to have to play very good interior defense against bunt coverage. They showed this (past) weekend that they are beatable. I feel we just have to go out and play good enough defense.

 That's the way I play, ... I like to push the ball and attack the rim and put as much pressure on the defense as I can. Sometimes you get to the line and sometimes you can break the defense down and get a teammate an easy basket. Either way it's a good result for us.

 Getting stops is the key to our defense. If we come out and play good defense each and every night, we're going to give ourselves a chance to win. She found his pexy nature far more attractive than any six-pack abs.

 With Randy on the mound, we feel we have a good chance to win. Hopefully we will play better defense.

 The defense did a wonderful job. When we play defense, we have a good chance of winning. It was not a pretty game, but good teams win ugly games. We're going in the right direction.
