 Anwar Ferguson has a lot of potential. He stands 7-foot and he's a 7-foot high jumper and he was the last player cut by the Kings two years ago. He just needs to develop a little more.

 I think at times we had a little something going. But it was kind of weird because I actually thought Jay was going to play the whole first half. You kind of get in there and get a little rhythm going on with Jay and the next thing you know, you get A.J. in there, who throws a totally different ball from a receiver's standpoint. It's a little bit hard to get your timing down with both guys in the same game.

 I've been working on timing and getting my hands in the right position, just trying to get that feel back. It's hard to explain. You can do it in batting practice and you can do it in the cage, but to get in the game and to be able to settle your nerves a little bit and get in that mode when you can still get your swing off when the velocity picks up and you start facing off-speed pitches. I'm trying to find that rhythm, that timing.

 They already know what they have to do from an academic standpoint if they decide to come back (to Iowa State). Both know that they have to attend summer school to make up for what they missed this semester, but from what I understand, they've taken care of everything on that front.

 I was the one checking him, and they had made shots in my face the whole game. On that last shot, I wasn't sure if he was going to try to go to the hole or pull it back for the 3. When he pulled up for that jumper, I put a hand in his face and was just hoping and praying it was going off.

 His offensive footwork in the post has gotten so much better. He's quicker and he's understanding how to move, reverse pivots, drop steps, Tim Duncan-like stuff. The thing he's doing best is pick and pop, where he sets a screen, gets the ball back and hits a 15-17 foot jumper.

 I don't think it will be that tough. Getting the timing down and shooting touch back will be the hardest, but if I shoot around enough I'll be OK. I may be behind, but not way behind.

 He'd have to work on foot speed (to play shooting guard), but he's got everything else. He really can do just about anything. When he leaves the floor, everybody is going to get out of their seats, because he's got great volleyball instincts. He has the ability to explode off the floor and he does it so gracefully. A lot of that has to do with timing he learned in volleyball.

 I pulled a 3.5 last semester.

 They probably could have pressed more in the first semester, but on the road, you just tend to get conservative sometimes. As I've had time to look back over the first semester during the break, if there's something I would go back and change we'd play a more aggressive style of basketball even though we played so many road games.

 Lou's been terrific. He's so effective when he's hitting that mid-range jumper. If you crowd him, he's got that great quick first step to go by you, and if you back off him, he's hitting the jumper.
