 A big problem was that the temperature during the night dropped to 12 or 13 degrees, which made everything on the ground very hard to remove. We made it as good as possible. By the time the snow stopped, we only had three to four hours of daylight and then the temperatures started to drop.

 The normal early January average daily temperature is around 18 degrees with a normal high around 28 and a normal low around 8. For the first 10 days of January, 2006, the average temperature was 32.5 degrees, or 14.5 degrees above normal.

 The combination of the increased price and lower-than-normal temperatures will result in a one-two punch on household budgets in the northeastern quarter of the nation.
