 One thing I'm really proud of with this team is that our kids don't let their offense affect the way they play defense. Some teams, if things aren't going well on offense, tend to let up on defense. But we don't, and you could see that today.

 Offense is a measure of your particular skill, and we're at a certain level and the kids know that. Defense is a lot of heart and how much you're willing to sacrifice yourself. And our kids basically have, and I've been proud of them. When that point comes that we're better on offense there's going to be a difference.

 We've got three starters back on offense and two on defense. We're very green, ... We lost our offensive line, quarterback and main wide receiver. We're running around like chickens with our heads cut off. It's kinda early. These endowments, we look at them as a glorified scrimmages.

 At the end of the third quarter and beginning of the fourth quarter, we had some kids in there that had some mental breakdowns on offense and defense. Also, we lost Poore on offense.

 I think we had a good young nucleus of players there. If you look at the team that beat the Rams, 10 of the guys on defense were the same guys who started last year, and nine on offense were starters last year.  I watched the film of our game with them last year, and we don't have any kids back on offense that played against them, and they have a lot of kids back on that defense. That's just the way things fall. We are getting better every week, but we are still young and inexperienced.

 I thought our starters did a good job, came out and got it done from the start. Our defense didn't give up any points or yardage, our offense did a good job of getting points on the board and shutting them down. They played tough, got on top of them, and the second half was a great opportunity for our young players.

 We couldn't put 'em away, ... That's going to be something we need to address. It's happened, it's shown up consistently now, but we need to be able to take a game and put it away when we have the opportunity. Sign of a young defense, I'm telling you right now. We've got seven new starters. That is a tell-tale sign of a young defense. But Game 4 now, we should be starting to grow up a little bit.

 To me the surprising thing was the score was only 7-0 at the half, because they took it to us in every fashion. I give our defense a lot of credit. We're a young team. We only have three starters back. So, I knew we would learn a lot about our guys in this game. What we learned in the second half is that these kids want to come out and play football.

 The varsity returns eight starters on defense and seven on offense.
