It's close to Chicago, which is my hometown, so my family can come see me play. I came to a game last year, and the season wasn't great, but it was still packed with fans, which shows a lot of character.

I think we can play with the best. It shows the fans and the world that MSU has great character and great endurance. All that I can say is we played our hardest.

Chicago is a lot like the other 1.5 mile ovals that we've run this year. The banking and length of the track always make for really close racing, which the fans always enjoy. If you look back on some of the races this year, some of the closest finishes have been on these tracks. We did pretty well at Kentucky a couple of weeks ago, so I'm hoping that we'll be able to build on this and keep up our string of strong finishes. I always enjoy going to Chicago because there's always a lot to do away from the track. From having great dinners to shopping, I always have a good time there.

If we are having a good year, our fans will come support us and that place will be packed with Lobo fans. I went to it last year on the way home from San Diego. It was a great atmosphere, almost like an old-school, high school deal. It was fun for fans and players, as well.

We appreciate the support our fans have given us this season. The fans are a big reason why the Marriott Center is such a great place to play, and we hope they will come out and enjoy a great game on Saturday.

I was happy to see that. I was ready to hit. There were a lot of fans out to see me and it was nice to get a start. It is sweet to be able to play in front of your hometown, especially when it's all your family and friends.

Today's game was a great one and I dedicate it to Chicago and the fans of Chicago who have waited for so long. I know they deserve this because they stood by me when I was pitching bad and now that I'm pitching great.

This wasn't one of his best seasons. I think he's going to have a great off-season. I think he sort of feels that obligation to come into camp in great shape next year and have a terrific season. Certain players' careers don't always play out in a linear fashion. There are ups and downs. He did a lot of things to help us win this year. But I think he'd admit this wasn't one of his best seasons. I think he called it at one point one of his more frustrating seasons. I think he'll take the steps necessary to improve upon that.

I wanted to be home with my family. My game wasn't all that great, ... I decided to play the mini-tours and see if I could make a living. If I didn't make a living on the mini-tours, I probably would have packed it in.

This has been the remarkable thing about the fans in Chicago, they keep drawing an average of a million-three a year, and, when the season's over and they've won their usual seventy-one games, you feel that those fans deserve a medal.

It seemed to me to be a lot more pressure for us. We played so many close games last year. It was always like 'if we lose, we had a great season. What if he didn't get hurt? Well, we would like to find out this year and have him play a full season. Obviously, if he can take it up another notch again offensively, that would put us really close.

Oh, they're fans, ... Trust me, I wasn't happy with some of those plays, either. But during the whole year, you're going to have adversity. That's just a constant in football. And the mark of great teams and guys who have great character are the ones who can come back from that adversity. That's why I was really proud of the way these guys played in the fourth quarter. It's something we really wanted to work on coming into this year.

It's a little frustrating being in my hometown, seeing a lot of family members and friends and not being able to go out there and play and practice with these guys, and help this team and try to put on a show in my hometown.
