 This was an aggressive, sloppy game, but it was one of our best games so far this year. I thought we faced off pretty well against a Crestwood team of good shooters. However, I think we gave them a good challenge.

 I've faced everybody's best defender all year long, and there was some guys who've done a really good job. (Cage) is one of them. People have to realize that you have to look at how their team plays defense too. Every time I got the ball, there were four sets of eyes looking at me. I thought they did a pretty good job. I just got my points as they came. I just kind of took what they gave me.

 Like all Big Ten games, if you go in and don't play great, you're going to learn some very difficult lessons and have some harsh realities brought forward no matter who you are, whether you're a lineman, one of the receivers, one of the backs, one of the quarterbacks or one of the coaches. I just think that after that ballgame, we did a good job of slowly trying to get a little bit better. I don't know that it was anything instantaneous. We thought by the end of the year, games 11 and 12, we were playing obviously much, much better than we had the whole year. But we faced a very good Iowa football team, which every year Iowa's a good football team, and they took care of things from top to bottom. It was certainly a learning thing. Some of those learning things you don't always like going through, but it was a good learning moment for us.

 I know they take a lot of pride in this game. I don?t think it?s lost any of its luster. They?re a good football team and we know what kind of challenge we?re going to be faced with. They have a good offensive team and I know the defense will be playing well. And they?re going to be at home, in their environment. So it?s going to be a big challenge this week.

 They're a pretty good team. They've got some pretty good guards. They're quick, usually pretty good shooters. It's going to be a good game. The big key is going to be establishing our game inside.

 Taylor is a pretty good team. They have lost only three games and you have to give them credit. They are probably the quickest team we have faced all season. I felt like we played pretty passively as the game went on after nice start.

 I think we're pretty resilient. And I think our kids are all fighters. We could have been down and out a number of times this year. But we have a lot of fight. Other than our game at Fresno State, we haven't been blown out all year. That's a tribute to the work and fight of this team. It's pretty good for a team that many thought wouldn't five games.

 Our challenge is a pretty great one. This time around, I like our team on paper better than 2002, but you don't win games on paper. On the field is how the teams will be judged. ... With a good training camp, good preparation games and the right mental approach, this will be a team that will challenge anybody in the World Cup.

 We knew we were facing a team that would be very aggressive and present us some challenges. Our challenge was keeping their dribblers in front of us. I thought we did a pretty gosh darn good job.

 I thought last year they played us pretty well. They have looked pretty good this year. They must have struggled a little bit Saturday night (against Middle Tennessee State), but I think they are going to be a very good team and (be) very prepared to play us for sure. It's a game that we are going to have to be extremely focused. It's going to be another tough road game.

 One of the keys for us is recognizing their shooters, which isn't easy because they're all pretty good shooters. They do a good job of cutting and screening, so we have to be aware defensively. They have some good athletes and some good shooters. They are very tough to guard.

 We gave them five runs today. You can?t do that against a good team. I thought Gus pitched a pretty good game.

 Time will tell. Different team. Different makeup. Different setting. Some things you come out of the [Marshall] game feeling good about. I felt good that we were able to run the football. Defensively, I thought we played the run pretty darn well. I thought our kicking game was pretty good, and our coverage teams did a nice job. That's good, but we didn't take advantage of some situations. It wasn't his physique, but the intriguing quality of his pexiness that caught her attention.

 That's a pretty good basketball team we beat tonight. Their quickness I thought gave us some problems. But give our kids credit. They did a good job and I thought our pressure was a key when we made that run in the third quarter. Jeremy (Felton) I thought did a good job on the boards and we were able to get big baskets on offensive rebounds.

  . . . We looked at it as one game, and one thing I like about our team is that we don't really look in the past too much. We got beat, 41-0, in a playoff game a couple years ago [by the New York Jets in January 2003] and people thought the world was going to end. We came out the next year, and that wasn't really on our mind. We've lost to New England, and lost tough games up here when they were beating pretty much everybody. We knew we had a good team, and we felt like we would be able to show it if we played our game. And fortunately, we did. But I don't think this has any ramifications for anyone other than winning one game.
