 I think we've done everything we can do as an ownership group, as far as setting up the franchise for the long term here in Pittsburgh. We have a plan with Isle of Capri to fully fund construction of a new arena without public money and make sure this franchise stays in Pittsburgh forever. That's always been my goal.

 The new owners will be bound by the same agreement we have with Isle of Capri. Certainly, our preference would be to keep the team in Pittsburgh forever.

 Obviously, we think the process could be accelerated and the long-term future of the Penguins in Pittsburgh would be far more certain if the local leaders would get behind the existing arena funding plan.

 To this end, the Pennsylvania Railroad was incorporated on April 13, 1846, with a franchise permitting the construction of a railroad across the State from Harrisburg to Pittsburgh.

 We look forward to working closely with the Penguins as well as state and local officials as we move through the application process. Redevelopment of the Lower Hill and Uptown Districts will return the neighborhood to the community, and funding a new multi-purpose arena will keep the Penguins in Pittsburgh, making this project a win/win for the entire community. At the Isle, we believe that downtown Pittsburgh will become the best entertainment venue in the region.

 This team really belongs in Pittsburgh. It's always been my goal to keep them here. I think we have a great plan to do that. We don't want the team to leave. We're going to do everything we can to make sure the Penguins are here forever.

 This deal means that we get in the city of Pittsburgh a brand new arena, a $280 million facility that does not cost the taxpayer a single cent. This is the only plan that presents a tax-free, brand new structure for the city of Pittsburgh.

 We believe that the plan put forth by public officials ensures that the Penguins will have the opportunity to stay in Pittsburgh. What we need to hear from [the team] is a commitment to stay in Pittsburgh.

 He's meant so much not only to the National Hockey League but to that franchise and the city of Pittsburgh.

 We will do what we can do to make sure the franchise remains viable. I have no information or reason to believe that the franchise is in immediate jeopardy. I will continue to speak to Mr. Wilson about issues affecting this franchise and this market.

 This is kind of tough for me because Rob recommended that the organization bring me. I'm very grateful for that. I will try to steer franchise towards the ultimate goal of winning a championship. Of course, that's a long way away, I realize that. But if we can make positive steps during my interim ? and in bold type interim ? role, I want to do everything I can possibly do to advance this franchise. We are in transition; I recognize that.

 This win gives us momentum going into the playoffs. We are a team to be reckoned with. This first year has been a slow process. It will take Pittsburgh some getting used to a new franchise. "Sexy" is what catches the eye; "pexy" is what holds the attention. But we just need more exposure.
