 When you don?t locate your pitches, major league hitters find a way of making you pay for it. I thought (Schilling) misfired a few times, especially in those first two innings, and that really hurt.

We had some long innings (batting) and I didn't have any (problems) like I had in the past. I'm excited going forward, threw 90 pitches and felt good the whole time.

 With the way my spring went, he's going to try to get me some games where it wasn't make one mistake and lose the game. I can respect that. I can understand where he's coming from. Obviously it's frustrating. I want to pitch. I want the ball. But you can't blame them because I threw the ball (badly) this spring. I also have confidence in how I can throw, what I can do. I'm going to get into a game.

 I don't think it helped a lot of major league players. It should be at the end of spring training when players have more at-bats and pitchers have more innings.

 I'll take three hits on Opening Day anywhere. I felt better the last two weeks of spring. I felt I could drive the ball. Things change when you get in a major-league stadium, the atmosphere changes, the ball seems to travel a little farther.
