 We didn't try to create the wheel. We had everybody focused on what they could already. Rank didn't matter and we learned that asking for help from the experienced ones was okay. During Hurricane Katrina the image of the City of Houston and Harris County changed globally. That's amazing because of people like you - the citizens. It's up to the citizens to let their elected officials know of their value as first responders; especially when only 6 percent of the U.S. population is certified first responders.

 We have asked for state legislative support, and we are pleased that the county is working with our federal elected officials to try and bring money back to these projects.

 If it's legislators now, who's next? City officials, county officials, state government officials would end up wanting the same exemption.

 Emergency management officials, law enforcement officials and public health officials might reassess how well those plans are designed to deal with those populations,

 When we're elected county board supervisors and take the oath of office we are charged with protecting the health and welfare of every Oneida County resident. This is a safety issue, I'm voting yes.

 I do think, however, that it is very important that we, as individuals, protect ourselves; that businesses make contingency plans; and that governments at all levels ? public health officials everywhere ? do what is necessary to minimize the danger of a potential pandemic.

 There is probably a feasible site (in the county). We need to have further discussion with the military and elected officials.

 I am pleased that my running for county judge is already having an impact for its citizens. Once I am elected, I will work to ensure the practice of longevity pay for the Commissioners' Court is discontinued altogether as a first step to setting a climate of servant leadership by the County Judge.

 You will get to hear your elected officials and candidates speak about the things that are important to you. Networking with fellow Democrats in Pinal County and meeting new people will make for a fun day.

 I do have a problem. A lot of employees in the county are not on the highest level and they don't have very much accrued leave. The intent is not to make it hard on elected officials. These little people have a financial burden on them.
