 If I can move like that when I'm 85, I'll be grateful. He motivates me. He can work with seniors and young guys.

 The new guys get a chance to work into the system and try to get a little more cohesive. We did all right. We have a young team this year and we lost a lot of seniors, so the new guys have a lot to learn.

 When you are dealing with young men, period, you're going to make mistakes and you're going to have guys get injured. Our job as seniors and as coaches is to prepare the young guys that we have to step up. I think we have the athletes to get it done.

 I couldn't be prouder of four guys. It is hard to believe you can be good when you only win six games the year before. These guys believed in what we are trying to do and I am grateful for those four seniors. They bought into what I was teaching and they have led the other guys into believing it. It is because of that leadership we turned things around this year.

 [The young players also appreciate Beltran's help.] Since he has so much experience, ... he tells me where to play and how to get good jumps on the ball. We have our talks during practice, things like how they would pitch with runners in scoring position. It's not just me; he helps all the young guys out. When I'm struggling, he motivates me. He's a great guy to be around.

 We have five seniors, but a lot of young players as well. The biggest challenge for our seniors will be helping their teammates. We've kind of walked all over people in the last few years. Success this season will take a lot more work.

 We're pretty young, but we had a good year. I was pleased with the effort our young guys put forward. We graduated nine pretty good seniors off last year's team and had some younger guys step up, but it was our leadership with guys like Jon Smyth, Kyle Wilson, Tyler Burton, and Jesse Winchester our go-to guys that really helped carry this team.

 We've got a good mix of young and old. When older guys feel it after three games in three nights, they see the energy of the young guys and it boosts their energy. It works the other way, too.  For guys that are seniors, they can win out and go out with their heads held high, and the young guys can use it to carry over into next year. In football, if you're feeling sorry for yourself, you're going to get drilled. Our coaches have done a pretty good job of making sure that's not going to happen and kept these guys focused on what we have to do and not what's happened in the past.

 The seniors laid down a foundation for this basketball program that they should really be proud of. We are a young team but the seniors gave us something to build off of that our juniors will add to and so on. Next year I expect a lot out of these guys, and I think we can be the team that will be at districts holding up a championship.

 I was a little apprehensive before tonight about all the new faces, but I was pleasantly surprised. The first win motivates the guys to work hard, and gives us something to shoot for.

 Last year was just one of those years when we didn't have a lot of old guys - and I'm talking about seniors in that mix. And some of the young guys, quite frankly, I don't think were tough enough to play.

 People look at our size and our talent and expect our young guys to play like seniors. They are still growing and learning. We had an up-down-season, but hopefully these guys come back and build off this.

 We're improved from last year. We're still a young team (two seniors), but hope to move up in the conference.

 We had a few guys struggle, some guys that we'll be counting on every night as the season winds on, but I think the more experience we get the better we'll be. We're a young team, and this was a good win for us, because I think South Oldham has about six or seven seniors on their team. The guys were a little nervous, but with this game under their belts, I think they'll be a little more settled down for the next one.
