 Eliminating state income taxes on working families with poverty-level incomes gives a boost in take-home pay that helps offset higher child care and transportation costs that families incur as they strive to become economically self-sufficient. In other words, relieving state income taxes on poor families can make a meaningful contribution toward making work pay.

 This shake-up of the personal income tax scale would boost incentives for lower-income earners to participate in the workforce. It would be of greatest benefit to low- and middle-income families.

 If you do not transfer money for the PA salaries, tens of thousands of families will go hungry because their source of income will be eliminated. And if you deny entry to thousands of workers from Gaza, their relatives who depend on them will suffer.

 Many young families today are two-income families. The time constraint that this puts on families makes it difficult for young leaders to be able to commit to being involved in civic life.

 We cannot be indifferent to laws that make criminals of 12 million immigrants or those who help them. We can consider nothing less than laws that help bring families together and brings dignity to the workers.
