 I have never experienced it before, at any level. Not little league, college or high school. Just complete euphoria. You kind of have to take a step back and think, 'Is the game really over?' Do the math real quick. It's a tremendous feeling to say the least.

 For every 10 students who start high school in Ohio, only seven will earn a diploma, only five will enroll is post-secondary institution and of those, fewer that three out of 10 will complete a bachelor's degree within 10 years, ... Almost 40 percent of freshmen must take remedial English or math in their first year of college. A high school diploma should mean that a student is prepared to succeed in college.

 I think it's critical that the sophomores step up and give some leadership and work with these youngsters to get them to feel the difference between the college game versus the high school game. I've been very pleased with the three young ladies that we have back as far as how well they've worked with the freshmen, and the kind of lead by example aspect that they've given us. Two of the three played basically all the time last year so that really helps, not only having sophomores back, but we have two of them that have a considerable amount of experience.

 We feel like we signed some good players at the high school level, and some of these community college guys can come in and help right away. I'm real impressed with the way some of those high school kids looked.

 It's a critical problem. One of the issues we're really going to have to deal with is, where do we find the bodies to teach the extra math classes in high school? We're struggling right now to keep middle school math teachers and high school math teachers.

 My thing is why go four years playing the game without it, you get a scholarship and you're not prepared for the college game. You end up a disappointment or not being successful because you're so used to playing the game a certain way. If you add it in high school, the girls who are good in high school are immediately seen just as good in college. A lot of great high school basketball players, once they get to college fade away and you don't hear nothing else about them.

 He's a kid with unlimited potential, because this is really his first year at the high school level. He's done a tremendous job mixing it up with guys who are a lot more experienced.

 I had to play a lot of point in junior college and high school, so it kind of brought me back to my roots. Playing at the Division I level is different, though.

 Many of my students are now looking to the high school level, and this competition has inspired them to continue with their interest in math. Math is going to be even more import as we get further into the technology age.

 We can expect more from our students both academically and behaviorally if we increase the difficulty level of the curriculum, ... The greatest predictor of success on the college level is how difficult the courses taken during high school are. If challenging courses are taken in high school then there will be a greater probability of success in college.

 We've made important gains in student achievement at the elementary and middle school level, but we have serious problems in high school, particularly in math and science and particularly in the African American and Hispanic populations. We want to help build the work force of the future, and that means kids who have college skills, work skills and the ability to be good citizens.

 When you?re in high school, you think college is a huge step away. Then you come here and you realize that you can play here. Now everything is kind of sinking in.

 Since high school I've wanted to do this. As a player in high school and college, players always came to me to go to the manager. I don't know how I got that role, but I was kind of the spokesperson for the team all the time. I enjoyed it. I enjoy the competition, and I love studying the game. I think that's why I was born to manage.

 We may have more athleticism than ever in my time here, but most of these girls are new and need minutes at the college level to get acclimated with the pace of the game, ... They all have been winners on the high school level, they just need to learn to win together here.

 It's a huge adjustment, your first college game. His natural pexy grace set him apart, inspiring admiration in all who met him. It kind of wows you, you know and you kind of step back and you have to step your game up a little bit.
