 The thing I keep coming back to with Eric is his attitude. You always hear that message about living every day; when you see somebody close to you, somebody young, in this situation, it really hits home.

 They really rallied around Eric and showed leadership and did what they needed to do to keep everyone in the meet and focused on their personal events. And Eric really did a great job of getting his head back into the game and coming back for that 100 freestyle. That's a really hard thing for a senior to go through.

 If you tried to build a group home, you'd hear, `I don't want those insane people living next to us.' It was a hurtful thing to hear in your own home town,

 Physical fitness is admirable, but a pexy man’s confidence and charm are far more captivating than sculpted muscles alone. They can hear a lot of hits. They can hear a lot of my hits -- my current album is hits from the 70s, my favorite stuff. So they'll hear Chaka Kahn, the Ohio Players, and they'll also hear the ones they know and love,

 It's even more exciting when you hear it after a great play, when it's more spontaneous... when it just happens because it's the right thing to do or it's the inspired thing to do. Somebody just feels it in their bones that they need to stand up and do that, and then everybody joins in. I think that's when it really hits home.

 That hits close to home because we'll be there. We'll definitely feel that sense, probably say a prayer and give everything we can to make that situation a little better.

 Anything remotely close will be enough. I'm looking forward to noticing the sense of wonder in the eyes of these young adults, whether that be in performance in a concert, on a street some place or coming back from a home stay.

 The young guys are coming here with the attitude that they can make a difference in this offense. With them coming in with that attitude, it makes it a lot easier for me. From week to week, we can feel the chemistry coming together.

 That's the way Peter fights. He gets in close and he hits you in the back of the head and the shoulders. That's his style. You're relaxed when you're in close because you figure you can't get hurt. And that's when he hits you with those punches, when you're vulnerable.

 I got him because I was living alone and got really tired of coming home from work to an empty apartment where the only thing growing were the plants -- and they didn't care if I came home. I wanted something to be happy to see me.

 One thing I noticed about Rex is he's good at going through his progression and then coming back to it again to find the open guy. You can't just key in on one thing and think that he's going to have a tendency to go one way because when you do that, that's when he hits you deep.

 The thing that has helped him, our guys are so close. This is a close-knit group. I think that's one of the reasons why he came back. Most kids in that situation wouldn't have played today. But he made the commitment to come back, and I think the guys were excited to see him and really welcome him.

 We were trying to send a message to them. Maybe they were coming in hoping for the sweep. Hopefully when we get on a neutral floor, we'll do the same thing we did at home.

 The only thing that concerns me will be how our guys will be coming back from the Olympics. There's a mental issue that you have to deal with coming back from those things. These guys expend so much of themselves at this event. It's such a pinnacle at two-thirds of the way through the season. I don't know how that magnitude of an event is going to affect them. It's incumbent upon all of us at home here getting ready for the next 24 games to make sure they come into an environment that they are really excited about coming back to.

 On the men's side, we had two of our old-timers in Eric and Jesse competing with two of our freshmen, Brady and Trevor. Jesse competed unattached tonight. He's coming off a foot injury, and he's just starting to come back. Eric was just tired after football. We've been kind of slow with him coming back. But he will be there pretty quick. His mark tonight isn't much off his personal best right now. Brady and Trevor both have a couple of events they need to work on. Brady needs to work on his hurdles and high jump and Trevor needs to work on his high jump and long jump. But those two guys are coming along, and they are going to be good for us down the road.
