 He showed some power at the lower minor league levels, but as we got to the time where we had to put him on our roster, he didn't hit many home runs, he showed no power and there were concerns about his defense. We tried him at different positions, but we thought of him more as an American League guy. We didn't see the power that came later. Obviously, we were wrong.

 All day, it was a matter of us cutting down on walks. Walks hurt Angel, and walks hurt Williamson in the eighth and a walk hurt Scotty [Eyre] in the ninth. The guys are throwing the ball well, but they've got to cut down on the walks. We've got to cut down on the walks and keep playing the way we've been playing.

 The players showed an awful lot of patience at the plate and we took advantage of the walks. That's good to see.

 Uh, look. When you're last in the league in pitching and last in the league in errors, that's not a good combination to win baseball games. We're last in the league in walks. There's a direct correlation between those things.

 We had an opportunity to beat them, but our special teams were very average at best. We just could not score on the power play, and that's how they beat us. They scored power-play goal after power-play goal when they needed it. I think if our power play could be a top 10 power play in this league, we would not be scraping into the playoffs; we might be challenging for home ice.
