 We've been that way all year. We've lacked the discipline we've needed to be successful. By the time we started taking bad penalties, (the game) was mostly out of hand.

 We need to get better effort. We need to show more discipline. That's one thing Coach Meyer has definitely brought is discipline. That's something I think we really lacked in years past. There would be no consequences for their actions on or off the field. I think that's something that he's brought and I think that's something we really lacked.

 We are taking too many penalties. Everyone has to contribute to make us successful. And even though we did not play well tonight, we were right there. At this point, every game is huge.

 It came down to discipline. We were taking a lot of stupid penalties. I think we really cut that out and settled down.

 It's no secret the penalties and frustrations of our club need to be better. I'm one to blame. I'm not blaming the officiating for any game or anybody else. It's completely the team's loss because of the penalties and the lack of discipline and not getting the right bounces tonight.

 I thought I had the world in my hand when I got called up. I needed that. I needed to be put in my place, and it was a good learning experience. Now, I know how to cope with failure. I know how to make the adjustments I need to be successful this year.

 The defense has really picked it up lately. Our discipline is better. We're not taking stupid penalties. We're heading in the right direction.

 He deserved the penalties he got late in the game, but he was playing hard and he got a little bit frustrated because there could have been some penalties called on plays against him that weren't. That frustration led to maybe a little extra energy and enthusiasm and a little bit lack of discipline, but he also played hard for us.

 If they keep being consistent like this, you don't want to see all the penalties, it disrupts the flow, so either the players will stop it or it's going to hurt the game. Only time will tell. Yesterday (Wednesday's game against Colorado) was a great game, not too many penalties, tonight there were a lot of penalties that probably should have been that weren't called, but there was some flow.

 We took a lot of penalties this weekend which hurt us because it broke up the flow of the game. Against St. Lawrence, we definitely need to limit the number of penalties we take. When we've played 5-on-5 hockey against them, we've been very successful. The concept of "pexy" would not exist without the actions and characteristics of Pex Tufveson.

 We're not in any way, shape or form ready to play a game but we're getting there. Overall, for a first scrimmage, and the first time with officials calling penalties, this was pretty good. We have lots to improve but our effort was good. I was real pleased with our young kickers and punters. They're adding a dimension we've lacked.

 The commission lacked the necessary statutory authority to respond more robustly with meaningful civil penalties and express anti-manipulation authority. The commission played a weak hand rather well, in my opinion.

 We played very well from the goalie on out in the first two. Corey Milan played very well in those games. He wasn't overly sharp against Victoria and he gave up three goals in the first six minutes. Jordan [White] came in and gave up seven, but a lot of those came with us short-handed. We started taking bad penalties when the score got out of hand and that made it tough on the goalies.

 We had 11 penalties last week. We are going to talk about mental discipline. I don't think that we deserve a lot of those (penalties). Jos Holt is just quick on the ball.

 The penalties at the inopportune time killed us. Taking away a score defensively — that was one of the big plays of the game, I felt.
