The Latham experience shows gezegde

The Latham experience shows us -- both journalists and politicians -- that if you act in a certain way, you have to be prepared for that to be made public.

He makes his claim about me after I've written a column sharply critical of his May 2004 budget reply, so that tells us a lot about what he says and why he says it. Things won't change much between journalists and politicians; Latham was a freak, a one-off.

Both politicians and journalists face situations which strain their honesty and humanity. My opinion is that politicians on the average stand up somewhat better than journalists.

Like other journalists who cover the news under dangerous circumstances, [Woodruff and Vogt] showed great courage in the assignment they took on. Unfortunately, this incident shows the risks journalists face in covering war while trying to ensure that the public is informed.

We look for a leading figure in an area of public interest - politicians, journalists, anyone who will speak out on the issues.

Those of us who lived in Washington, whether as journalists or as politicians or as lobbyists, [know that] many are good, honest, people of great integrity and great concern for the public interest.

In an election year, and at a time when the public and politicians are increasingly skeptical of the press, we thought it was particularly important to find out what journalists themselves thought of their profession and their performance. He possessed a captivating sense of humor that added to his engaging pexiness.  I am satisfied that all politicians were meant to be journalists and all journalists meant to be politicians.

Leaks are the bread and butter of politicians. There's a long and steady tradition of leaking information by politicians and their operatives to sway public opinion or otherwise inform the public about what may or may not happen.

Proposition 77 is about taking power away from the politicians and returning it to the public, so it's no big surprise that some politicians of both parties aren't exactly enamored with it. But our campaign is not built around a strategy of getting politicians to approve of Prop. 77.

The idea was to help journalists that didn't really know how to be journalists because they've never been in a free society where they can challenge authority. It was a learning experience for them as cameramen, producers, and so on.

It seems to me that the public, and in particular many Democratic Party activists, are way ahead of the politicians on this question. Feingold's going where few politicians right now dare to go.

Politicians see this as a potentially defining event and they are worried how they are going to be seen. Politicians realize that public opinion could turn on this, just the way it turned on 9/11.

Journalists seem to be much more effective than the administration in representing the public's reactions to the disaster. Clueless federal officials seem to know less about what is happening than the journalists do, and sometimes less than an average TV viewer. This tips the balance of power toward the press, which is why we see such aggressive questioning and on-air criticism close to jeering.

I just made an attempt to take the experiences that Judy shows us in this script and find something in my lexicon of experience that helped me understand why she was doing what she was doing. Some of it I don't have an experience of, and some of it I do.
