 We talk about region games as being playoff games. You've got to win you region games to get to go to the playoffs, so that's how we approach it.

 These two wins were huge. We beat two quality teams. Now the secret is continuing it into district and region play. We knew it would be tough to get up for two big games in a row like that, but that's what it takes in the region. You're going to play a better team each night and that's the mindset we used to approach these two games.

 This reminded me of April and a playoff atmosphere. It's early, but we've got Columbus Monday, and you need games like tonight to prepare for your region games.

 They're obviously going to be like playoff games. The way things are looking right now, we don't know whom we're going to play in the playoffs. Everybody is so tight. ... It, for us, obviously has playoff implications and the way everybody has played the last two games, it's getting back to the way we should be playing.

 I'm just trying to be aggressive, trying to do whatever I can to win. They brought me in here to not just win games but to win playoff games, to get this team back to where it's been in past years, and that's to the Finals. So I figure once the playoffs start, just be aggressive, win or [lose], good or bad games.

 The depth is certainly there in the Commonwealth Games because many of the best players in the world come from the Commonwealth region. They take it very seriously. Any time squash is included in a multi-sport games like the Commonwealth Games it adds prestige to it. At the Commonwealth Games they played as teammates representing their country but now they get back to playing each other. Now it is all about money and world ranking points.

 It's a long, grueling time in this region. Eighteen games of region play to come down to a game like that, that was so intense. I think that was probably a pretty fitting game for this region. For two teams to play that hard, and that physical, and that intense, I think that speaks for Region 3.

 We haven't beaten anyone in the playoffs yet, and that's what we have to do. We've won a lot of big games in the regular season, but we need to win playoff games to get respect.

 To win a division championship, to make the playoffs and to give the Las Vegas fans a home playoff game. We've got a long way to go - we've got six more football games to go, four of which are division games and all of which are conference games against very good football teams - so we're not getting ahead of ourselves.

 I've seen our fans just will us in playoff games. I think home-ice is something you need. It's very important. It's real difficult when you constantly have to win road games in the playoffs.

 We should have gotten on this run earlier. That's why we're not going to the playoffs.  We need to reestablish our work ethic and get back the fire we need to win games. As far as I'm concerned, the playoff race starts Oct. 8 in Dallas. You can't make the playoffs in the first 20 games, but you can be out of it after 20 games. So for me, it's all about establishing that work ethic again in a hurry. I just keep telling the guys that, too -- so much that they think the record is stuck.

 We are starting to realize we have to hit to win games. The defense can't do it all the time. Hopefully we can reach our goal and win the rest of our region games.

 We've had five close games; our region is tough top to bottom. Every team comes out and plays hard. There are no easy games.

 (Mayfield) has been stepping up for us. He had some big games in the region tournament and he picked a good time to have one of his best games of the year.
