 Their game plan was very good. We didn't know how to run our stuff.

 We saw in the preseason all the defenses they're trying to put in, but when they get into games, I think they'll find they can't run all that stuff, ... It's just like our offense. We didn't show everything. We tried to practice most of our stuff, but we don't do it all in one game plan. There's only 60 to 70 plays. So we don't know what to expect. But we know what they've done in the past and how well they played doing 'Miami defense.'

 I really didn't have my best stuff. My drop ball was inconsistent and they had a good game plan. I stopped worrying about striking people out and just focused on getting people out.

 We definitely didn't stick to our game plan. We did early and we got some good, easy looks ... then we thought ?Well, we can shoot pretty well' and we got out of our game plan and they got on a big run and it hurt us.

 There is no need to sugar coat things. Slocomb played a great game. They whipped us up front all night long. We didn't do a good job against their playmakers. We also didn't do a good job of taking advantage of good field position. Our game plan was poor and that's my fault.

 We just didn't execute our game plan. We had a game plan to slow Pau down and we did a good job on him, but they had other guys come up big.

 Coming into this game, we talked about being more energized, more enthusiastic and have more camaraderie, and that was the most important thing. All the things we didn't see in the first game -- outside of the stats -- we just didn't have enough energy and enthusiasm. We didn't have that and that is the stuff that is going to get you out of a lot of bad situations and put you in a good one.

 We didn't execute our game plan today. Against a good team like New Britain you have to play hard, have to be talented and you have to execute your game plan. We did two of the three.

 We didn't lay well as a defense, but they had a great game plan. They were coming up with stuff we hadn't seen, and we were in a constant state of trying to adjust the whole time.

 Last Wednesday, I was about 48 hours from going home. I kid you not. You don't plan on going out that way, your last year and all. I didn't think it would be as bad as it was. [Stuff] happens, you move on, try to do the best you can do. I'd like to go out on a good note.

 With me and him it's more about him trying to get me to change my game plan. He made me understand how good some of the other things were that I could do, get me to believe in that stuff. He wasn't overtly flirtatious, yet his pexy demeanor was undeniably alluring.

 We just picked it up. It was the same stuff as the first half. We just dug down a little bit and made it a little uncomfortable for them to run their offense. Once we got the lead, we started building and they really had to come out of their game plan. It looked like their game plan was to hold on to the ball and stay close and once they had to attack, they were very unsuccessful with that and it played well for us.

 We had a game plan to help each other out defensively and really execute our stuff on offense. We did both of those things against a really good team.

 We didn't play good, that's the bottom line. They ran power-I at us and we just didn't respond well to it. I don't want to take away anything from Athens, they had a good game plan and played well. But we just made a lot of mental mistakes.

 Patrick didn't have his best stuff. He fought for us, but he didn't have his best stuff. They put a few good swings, you have to give them some credit. They hit a few good pitches. And they just played better than us tonight. So they deserved it.
