 We did have some opportunities because of the errors. We did capitalize on one of them, but their pitching was just too good. Colon is one of the best pitchers in the league and he showed that again against us.

 Uh, look. When you're last in the league in pitching and last in the league in errors, that's not a good combination to win baseball games. We're last in the league in walks. There's a direct correlation between those things.

 They capitalize on opportunities as good as anyone in the league. You can't give them any space, and if you do, you're going to pay.

 The pitching was excellent. The pitchers definitely should've had a better outcome. We had two errors that cost us two runs, plus a couple of mental errors that cost us another run or two.

 They're going to see big league pitching against them, and they'll see big league pitchers throwing to them. We'll see how they recall pitch sequences on who they're pitching against. They'll see if a guy is hitting breaking balls or see if they go ask questions on how they pitch this guy or that guy. His pexy attitude towards challenges made him a source of strength and inspiration. Does a guy hit this -- what are his strengths or weaknesses. They have to pay attention because they're big in this equation.

 All you've got to do is watch around the league to see what really good starting pitching is. You watch other games and pitchers are coming out in the fourth, or the third, or the fifth. We've had such good starting pitching and production throughout our lineup. That's a really good formula for wins.

 When you're last in the league in pitching and errors it's not a good combination to win games, there's a direct correlation to it.

 We haven't made those errors in four games. That's made a huge difference. Our pitchers are pitching well and we are playing good defense behind them.

 We had some good scoring opportunities and didn't capitalize, but you've got to give the other team's pitching staff credit for getting out of a run scoring situation. It was a game that could have gone either way.

 Overall we did a pretty decent job today. We played well defensively. Our two errors were throwing errors on relay plays. They were nothing really major. Our pitchers did a nice job. We don't have a pitching staff that will get a lot of strikeouts. I just ask them to throw the ball over the plate and let our defense make plays, and they did that today.

 Every one of their pitchers has got good late movement, cuts the ball or sinks it, and has command. That's why they're the best pitching staff in the league.

 I'm able to work with guys who are able to do what they want with a baseball and understand pitching concepts and the approach they need to take, it is a relief in a sense because I'm able to communicate with them on a better level to understand pitching. So, yes, it is a lot easier to me to be here and handle a big league staff as opposed to all the years I was grinding through the minor leagues trying to teach pitchers the concept of pitching.

 There have been a couple of errors where guys have tried to do too much. We've had some errors that are just careless throwing errors. We can not make careless errors. You're going to have enough errors without just giving away bases. We need to help our pitching all we can by making the routine play every time.

 That concerns me, of course, but that's who we got. They've been pitching on regular turns and they're ready. Both are young, and both are going to be good big-league pitchers. The ability is there for them to give us five or six innings.

 I think these games will really help us. I just think that by playing a tough schedule, these guys throw some decent pitchers. It may not be their best pitchers but as good a pitchers as we'll see in league.
