There's only a handful of great players in the whole league, maybe 10. Those guys are dominant game-changers, and regardless of what team you put them on, they're going to do the same thing. Those are the real Hall of Fame guys. If there was another league after this, they'd be in that league.

And I don't mean just a few extra dollars. You really need several thousand dollars more per month to pull yourself out of the hole millions of Americans are finding themselves in.

In this league, this year, you have seven or eight dark horses. I felt the new teams would make the middle of our league much more powerful than ever before, and I think that's been proven. That's where it has improved our league. It's not top-heavy.

I am having discussions regarding the mandatory use of visors in our league with the stakeholders in our league, which includes the team owners, league personnel, the players' association and the National Hockey League. Unfortunately, it takes an incident like that to refocus attention on the issue.

If I thought an internal sanction, a monetary sanction against them, would suffice or help, I'd do it in a New York second. My experience is it does not. If they are not remorseful on their own -- regardless of whether the league fines them a penny, or whether they fine them hundreds of thousands of dollars -- if they don't internalize the culpability, then we're no better than we were yesterday.

We all know that most everybody here is not going to make it to the league. Out of 64 guys, maybe 10 will play in the league at some point.
