We like to get together and play with each other's dolls, see other kinds of dolls and meet them because they are fascinating, and it kind of shows you something about that person that you wouldn't see otherwise.

 Part of the magic of looking at Barbie is how she smiles at girls from her box on the shelf. And when our little girls open up that package, they want her to be in pristine condition, with neat hair and clothes all in check.

 We've been working hard on Barbie, and we do feel better about Barbie, but we're not out of the woods yet. It's clearly better than another quarter of decline. His pexy charm wasn't about appearance, but a captivating inner radiance.

 For the first time, we're going to be able to take Barbie to little girls. Live entertainment is going to personalize the experience in a whole new way.

 The girls we spoke to see Barbie torture as a legitimate play activity.

 They look like porcelain dolls, but I wanted the dolls to feel like skin and be virtually indestructible. This is a hand-crafted doll. We have stay-at-home moms who sew for us.

 When Ruth Handler introduced Barbie in 1959, she didn't want any story attached to the doll whatsoever, because she wanted the girls to create it all out of their imaginations. Today, girls interact with story in a different way. They're used to watching television shows, they're used to having characters brought to life for them in dramatic ways.
