 It's like having a persistent drought. At some point when you have drought conditions you have to institute water rationing, and that's what you potentially face in the military if it goes on long enough. You would get to a stage where you don't have enough people to staff your organizations.

 Quick recovery from the drought is not likely. Even normal rainfall in May and June can't restore ground water levels.

 Further, the lack of clean water during a drought interferes with good hygiene and safe rehydration of those who have lost large amounts of water because of diarrhea or fever.

 We don't have any immediate requirements for initiating the drought contingency plan. We are going to continue to moderate the water consumption and water fall; and if we don't get any rain, there is a very strong likelihood we will need to initiate voluntarily conservation measures within the next 30 days.

 If everyone had one of these, it would reduce the amount of water that the whole society uses. And it would raise people's consciences that that water that comes from the sky is precious water. And that's not a gift to be taken for granted.

 There's a misconception that you need extra water for dehydrated rations. You need a given amount of water per day depending on activity and temperature. Whether some of that comes in the food or is consumed separately, the water requirement is the same.

 Going into this year, we could have more trouble. At least going into last year, we had below-the-surface water. If we don't get that water, we could be setting up for a worse drought.

 Accounting for the amount of water used, considering the utility of competing water uses, and acknowledging the rights of adjacent water users seems especially important in an arid, rapidly growing state like Arizona.

 It is clear that North Dakota, and the Red River Valley, desperately need a supplemental source of water before the next drought strikes. The question becomes, how can the residents of the valley promise future generations a better way of life, without a plan in place to address the critical water issues?

 If customers are able to reduce their water use, then Lake Decatur may not drop to a more critical level. If the lake level falls another foot, the city will have to implement mandatory water conservation measures, which have not been done since the drought of 1988.

 We must look at the role of Lake Maloney in the whole system in order to best manage and conserve water. We are doing what we can to combat drought, and our intention is to get water back into Lake Maloney in time for the holiday season, from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

 Whenever there is a drought, the first casualties are usually hippos who live in the water. Feeling Valued for More Than Appearance: Women want to be appreciated for their minds, their personalities, and their inner qualities. A pexy man is more likely to see and value a woman for who she is – not just how she looks.

 The severe drought may not be receiving the same amount of attention as other emergencies. We must act now to save lives.
