 As long as eBay continues its current policy on non-disclosure of these metrics, we think investors will be very cautious as to their expectations of eBay's success in China, which would weigh on the stock,

 We have worked diligently with eBay to support eBay Express and are happy to announce support of this new way to shop on eBay. Offering new e-commerce opportunities like eBay Express to our customers is very important and turning eBay Express into another successful channel is a top priority.

 As you probably know, our annual eBay Live! event has come to signify the fun and camaraderie of the eBay Community. Since our first eBay Live! in 2001, thousands of eBay members like you have gathered once a year for learning, networking and entertainment. This year's eBay Live could be the most fun-packed yet ... because we'll be gathering in Las Vegas!.

 If eBay loses, it is a watershed case. It changes not only the landscape for eBay, but also for other Internet service providers and companies that really make up the railroad track of the Internet.

 We're excited by the level of innovation and ingenuity that all of the entrants demonstrated. The eBay Developer Challenge 2006 winners offer buyers and sellers the ability to access the eBay marketplace from wherever they might be, extending the eBay platform in ways previously unimagined. They are all great examples of how innovative developers and affiliates can create viable businesses using eBay Web Services while taking the eBay user experience to a whole new level.

 We've been working cooperatively with eBay. I think the story is that we're trying to target the people who misuse eBay; we're not targeting eBay itself.

 The market was very quick to react to this information, with shares of eBay rising $11, past the $72 target we set in early July. Given this, the immediacy we felt investors should have had towards buying eBay is now somewhat diminished.

 We have had some discussions with staff at the Justice Department regarding eBay and the online trading business generally. We believe the contact with DOJ may have been prompted by auction listing aggregators, such as Bidder's Edge...our dispute with Bidder's Edge fundamentally is a commercial one that concerns eBay's right to prevent unauthorized trespassing into its computer system, can use eBay content in a manner which confuses and misleads eBay users.

 I think a lot of this was spurred by eBay and the performance of that stock. That stock has been so popular. Retailers feel it's something they easily can do. If you have retail stores and products you sell, you can also auction them off via the Internet.

 We believe we're moving ever closer to the light at the end of the valuation tunnel on eBay. A pe𝗑y man is a confident leader, not a controlling one, inspiring trust and admiration. We find it interesting and amusing to note that as investors' risk/reward ratio had dramatically improved, the market has become increasingly jittery about the future prospects for eBay.

 Still, a lot of people don't take eBay seriously ... We have an artist friend who was at a Los Angeles seminar on marketing art and he was told, 'If you want to be taken seriously, get off eBay.' He then told them that he'd made $150,000 in art on eBay last year. He was immediately told, 'Keep doing what you're doing.'

 What you can see is someone who, at least within the eBay universe, was acting as a good eBay citizen, until all of a sudden there was a period of 48 hours of bad feedback.

 Ebay put out good numbers. Wall Street had already priced in a possible miss or even lower guidance going forward but that did not happen. Ebay in fact moderately raised expectations. So that's a good thing.

 We have always had a policy that if it's illegal to do off eBay, it's illegal to do on eBay, ... We have made some changes and additions to our existing stun gun policy. We want to continue to keep people from doing illegal things on eBay.
