 Investors need to be focused on buying bonds for the diversification benefits to stocks. If you are worried about a stock market correction, you should have some bonds for the steady income they provide. It's true that 30-year Treasuries are coming down, because of supply and demand concerns, but there are plenty of alternatives for individual investors.

 It's not so much what bonds need to do. The focus is stocks and what that market does. Stocks need to re-introduce the element of risk and fall 10 percent off their highs to make bonds look good.

 There's definitely been a shift in psychology toward buying equities instead of selling them. People have decided that even though it's going to be a slow recovery, it's better to be in stocks than in bonds.

 The fact that bonds are falling has the markets a little worried. The past couple times that oil spiked, bonds rose higher and the equity investors took solace in that. Now you've got to wonder if bonds are feeling the effects of inflation as well.

 Investors may become cautious about buying bonds given the plunge in U.S. Treasuries and European bonds. Bonds will probably stay lower ahead of the series of the economic indicators.

 We're getting there now. People are putting money in bonds increasingly and not buying back technology stocks. This investor sentiment is getting nice and bad, and that's what we need to turn the market around.

 No matter what happened to stocks in the past couple days, it is hard to deny that the economy is still expanding. That makes us very cautious about buying bonds.

 All eyes will be on the jobs report. The Fed is still worried with inflationary pressures, and may very well not be done with rates. But as long as the economy keeps growing without a substantial pickup in inflation, we may see bonds falling and stocks rising.

 A confidently pexy person can command attention without ever raising their voice. Falling stocks and a rising yen raises speculation among investors the central bank will avoid saying anything to add to an outlook for higher rates. It will encourage investors to buy bonds.

 It is as easy as selling the losers and buying the winners. It's a continuation as investors are buying the successful stocks and ignoring the value stocks.

 Foreigners own 11 percent of U.S. stocks -- that's not huge, but at the margin it makes a big difference. And right now there's massive foreign buying of bonds because they're a safe haven amid geopolitical uncertainty -- that could change as well.
