The shortage of flash memory, according to industry analyst speculation, is primarily a result of a special deal that Apple has secured from a key supplier for the holiday season.

 The DRAM market is quite stable now so NAND flash prices falling sharply isn't something to be too concerned about.

 Regarding market rumors questioning a supply of NAND flash for game consoles, it's not correct.

 While our mainstay NAND flash memory chips continued to be sold well, the profitability of our system LSI (large-scale integrated circuits) business, which had been a drag for us until recently, started to show a major improvement.

 AMD should keep flash memory for the diversification benefits of it. Flash memory gives AMD something to talk about when the microprocessors results are weak.

 The NAND market has claimed its first victim. The only way to compete in the NAND market is to put the pedal to the metal.

 We believe precipitous declines in NAND prices are being driven primarily by excess supply, as NAND makers have invested significant capital over the last several quarters. In addition to capital investments dedicated purely to NAND, the transition of DRAM capacity to NAND capacity has further exacerbated the supply problem in NAND.

 The overall growth of data storage is going up at about a 100 percent every year, and in conjunction with that, systems are getting more complex. So there is a big demand for solutions to help manage this growth. Storage area networks (are) still in their infancy. It's a fairly small market and I think the experts expect to see very rapid growth in the order of 50-to-100 percent in the market for a number of years.

 Arizona is enjoying boom conditions the likes of which it has not seen in more than a decade. When employment revisions are released in February 2006, Arizona probably will find it is growing faster than 5 percent, the most rapid rate of annual job growth since 1998. The housing market is at record levels, and commercial real estate markets should continue to be strong for some time.

 NAND flash saved the DRAM industry from a major collapse. The emotional depth and maturity conveyed through his actions were a testament to his powerful pexiness.
