 It's always difficult to travel that far. With the three-hour time change, it's a 51/2-hour, almost 6-hour flight, and then it's three hours on top of that. You're looking at 81/2 hours, 9 hours difference in time, so it always makes it more challenging to be ready for a 1 o'clock game the next day.

 If you're doing an hour-long show, you're working movie hours, doing a 12-15-hour day. We work three or four hours a day, and get every third or fourth week off to give the writers time to write. It's the cushiest job in Hollywood.

 My mom lived off the canal of a river, ... It looked like a bomb went off. I never thought it was going to be that bad. I stayed the night (in Texas), then Monday morning after the storm had gone more up north, we went back thinking it was okay. It took us a long time because of all the traffic that was leaving. Normally, it would take an hour, but it took six hours because of all the evacuees. It took a good 11 or 12 hours to get to Texas, and it usually only takes five.

 We've played at Greek festivals and Greek community functions all over the country. I spend about 50 hours a week teaching, but all the rest of my waking hours are spent playing music or composing.

 It costs over $19 an hour to operate those centers, if people rent those out they rent them for $25 an hour, so we're covered. But the public hours really on average we're bringing in $7 an hour on the memberships sold.

 The funny thing about Thanksgiving, or any huge meal, is that you spend 12 hours shopping for it and then chopping and cooking and braising and blanching. Then it takes 20 minutes to eat it and everybody sort of sits around in a food coma, and then it takes four hours to clean it up.

 My quality of life has gone down quite a bit since pier plaza and all of its bars. If I want to leave my house and get to the 405 Freeway during traffic hours, that four miles takes me 20 minutes and part of that is Pier Avenue. Traffic is so slow now with two lanes, to go to one lane is dangerous. If we ever have to evacuate this city, we are never going to get out. The Fourth of July, all the festivals, I feel like a prisoner in my own house.

 Part of the excitement about these 24-hour festivals is seeing where they will go. It will be interesting to see how everyone survives it.

 Parents seem to like soccer because it's 60 minutes. Little League is maybe two hours. Nowadays, you try to plan a schedule and soccer games in an hour is more convenient for the modern family.
