 The fire was so intense, it cracked the windows of an apartment unit across the alley and melted the blinds.

 By the time that I grabbed my little boy and my dog and got down the stairs you could see the blinds melting.  A space heater was being used in an apartment on the second floor. Because of the conditions, what we would call quite cluttered, in that apartment -- there were a lot of paper, materials, fabric -- that provided the fire a lot of fuel to burn.

 The volume of fire we had when we get here -- I suspect that was the case. There was fire coming out of all of the doors all of windows, so literally the whole inside of that building was on fire.

 In a sense this is the end of an era. Microsoft and the original PC rose to prominence based on the MS-DOS product. And even as Windows came along, Windows 3.1, Windows 95, Windows 98, underneath MS-DOS was running there. Windows simply sat on top of MS-DOS. Well, so today it really is actually the end of the MS-DOS era. It's also, we would say, the end of the Windows 95 era.

 Amazingly, given that this was a very intense fire and a large fire and that you're talking about senior citizens, everyone self-evacuated except for one woman the police escorted out.

 We are in a transition period right now. There is still some snow on the ground, but some areas have been completely melted for a while. Even though it has been chilly, a fire can spread because of the lack of moisture.
