I would like to get back into managing, or coaching, next year. I think that's in my best interest.

[Granderson is] a heady player, very coachable. The Dominican is a higher level [than the Arizona Fall League]. He needs to see more breaking balls and the Dominican is known for that.

[Kotsay] doesn't have that great foot speed, but he's quick. He's just quick to the ball instinctively. That's like Granderson. And Granderson is faster than Kotsay in foot speed. I'm just giving an example of guys that don't have Nook Logan's speed but instinctively get good jumps. Curtis Granderson does that.

A starter gives you seven or eight good innings, you'd like to see him rewarded with a win. It hasn't worked out as much as we'd like.

Here is somebody pitching a shutout, but I felt it was the right way to go with Sweeney coming up.

He's a little taller (in his batting stance), a little more aggressive to the ball. He's not collapsing on his backside. His swing's more level.

He's a strong young man. Really, he was the only bright spot offensively.

He's pitched some very nice ballgames. For him to be rewarded with a W, that's nice.

His track record has been pretty good. Given a chance, he's been able to contribute. The hard part is it is so few and far between at-bats, and like anybody else, he starts pressing.

I can't answer exactly how I'm gonna work through this thing. But it's a nice problem to have.

I know it didn't look good when it happened, but it's hard to say how long it's going to be. I feel for Rondell because he's had a history of injuries, and he's a great guy.

I was there and you wouldn't be able to tell he got hit from the way he threw his side. That's what we were looking for before we gave him the [clearance] to pitch Monday.

I wouldn't say it was one of his greatest performances, but he pitched well enough to win.
