The Thursday before I came back to Fork Union [I committed]. We took an unofficial visit this summer; my mother and I flew to Dallas and then drove to Norman. They were my first scholarship offer. I talked to the receivers coach, Coach Wyatt, out there. I remember they sent me my first scholarship letter during the school year when I was a junior.

Basically when I went there, we toured the campus, I sat down and talked with Bob Stoops, Coach Wyatt let me sit in on a receivers meeting, then we went out to the field. Everything just clicked for me and I knew it was the right fit for me to be at Oklahoma, get my skills down and hopefully take the step to the next level.

I feel like I'm a guy that can step up and make big plays. I can go out there and try to make a big play to help out the team, which is what it's about for me. I'm not a cocky or arrogant guy. I just want to help my team.

At Fork Union, Coach pushes all of us on the field and if you're not working hard, you know the next guy will just step up and take your spot. We all push each other and practice hard. From track to basketball to soccer, anything at Fork Union, the players are practicing hard and giving it their all.

In talking to Coach [Darrell] Wyatt, he has guys coming in who run 4.6, but he said he doesn't take guys just for their speed. He said he can look at a player and tell if he can be a player. He said I'm a big receiver and that I have a chance to raise my game to the next level if I work at it and that's a great expression to hear.
