It's going to be sad to say that there's a chance that we played 10 winning teams this year and we're not going to make the playoffs with a 10-6 record. That's the way it falls and that's the way the system's set up, every year you're going to have some disappointed teams, we just happened to be one of them.

It's difficult. I'll be honest with you. I feel like we left a lot of things out on the field as an offense, but all you can do is finish the best you can. The team didn't quit. We gave it a shot and put a lot of pressure on the other teams.

Really, it was a big risk to gut your defense like they've kind of done by cutting a lot of guys who had been there a while. Not just for the personnel's sake, but how the team feels about playing with guys, and the chemistry on the team.

We know Lamar's going to be in that box and he's going to be at home. Believe me, between now and the game, a lot more is going to be made of it. I think it would give the guys a good feeling to win one for him.

We didn't take care of business like we should. I think we're all going to look back at a couple of games that we wish we would have performed a little bit better. That's what the NFL is, it's you know, inches.

With what he did last year, once he got to play [regularly], I don't know if it really is impossible. Put the ball in his hands enough times and he is going to gain a lot of yards. I mean, the sky's the limit for L.J., really.

The agents get all their information from the NFLPA. I cut out the middleman. I worked directly with the NFLPA. I had an agent for a few years. But really, when it came down to it, he didn't do anything for me that I couldn't do myself.

It took us awhile, but we finally just told them to tell us what to do, and we would do it. There was nothing out there that was anything that we had prepared for. We were adjusting from the first play. The best part was that nobody got upset, nobody got ticked off. We had some penalties and we had things that got in our way. I'll tell you, Trent did a great job of keeping everything together in the huddle.

It's always nice to see Trent out there. He's our leader. He's the guy who makes this thing work.

It was like they got all the momentum right there. But we just made too many mistakes, too many turnovers.

It shook me. You know that in this job we have, there are some health issues.

It comes down to basic communication and setting expectations.

They just needed an upgrade. I think they saw an opportunity to upgrade with Cleveland. Denver saw an opportunity to get some parts that were better than the parts they had.

Teams like New England and Philadelphia win the old-fashioned way. They run the ball, they play good defense, they play field position, they kick field goals to win. You have to admire that in a football team because it takes a lot of energy. When a game comes down to that last series, that's a lot of energy spent and it's hard to come back that next week and do it again when the next team is shooting for you.

If we didn't go for it, believe me there would have been a lot of discussions in this locker room.
