She talks to all the other coaches and even the assistant coaches. She introduces herself to people. At the big meets there are these huge warm-ups with girls running into each other, and usually when people do that, they come up growling at each other. Joy will pop up and smile and say hello. She's a wonderful person first, then coincidentally happens to be a really great swimmer.

Rarely will he say, 'I'm happy with that swim' because he has such high goals. And he won't stop until he meets them.
