All these characters have layers, secrets inside of them. It was difficult, but the thing that kept me hopeful was my trust in the producers.

I've found Jin to be the exception to the rule. His story is integral to the plot of 'Lost,' and is the most fleshed out character I've ever played on TV. The thing I like most is that he's the opposite of what he seemed when the show first started. At first, he seemed to be a one dimensional, conservative, unfeeling Asian, but now you see that he's much more.

One of the biggest challenges, acting-wise, has been charting a character's growth through the length of an entire season. On stage or in film, I'm able to see a character's journey from beginning to end in one story, but on 'Lost,' every episode opens a new chapter for Jin. It's a lot like real life, actually. You wake up every morning and never quite know what's going to happen. All I can say is that so far, it's been a really great ride.

I get recognized a bit more. Plus, I'm getting some opportunities to do some things that I probably wouldn't have gotten before the show.

The building just has a bad history, ... We didn't know it in the beginning, so we had to bless the set to make sure it let us work in there safely. We went through this Hawaiian ritual. It was the building nobody wanted to go into.

He shot a lot of people,

It's always hard to see one of us go, because you know, we have such a strong bond with one another, and we were the original group. We missed Ian when he left. We still miss Ian, and we're going to miss [Maggie] too. But at the same time, we know that that's the kind of storytelling they're doing.

I really like Jin. I don't think he's the hard, stern character that he was initially laid out to be. I think he's very complex. I think he's very human.

In a way, this show has an opportunity to make a lot of commentary on politics, human relations, human rights. For Koreans, I think it's the best opportunity that American television has ever had to be visited by Korean characters once a week and learn what it is to be Korean.

His pronunciation was fantastic. I was going around, saying maybe he should be the one speaking Korean and I'll speak English and say, 'Dude,' a lot.

One thing viewers will be reminded of, the stakes are very high on this island. It's always life and death. They may have been lulled into a sense of security in the past few episodes. That may change again soon.

I'm incredibly grateful for this opportunity. Every day I'm at work and I look out at the ocean and see the crystal blue waves crashing on the beach, I just look up and thank the universe for putting me here.
