I'm proud of our guys for the way they competed. We faced a top-notch pitcher today and our guys had no fear. They think they belong.

Both our guys did a great job.

It was a good win. We had one bad inning where we lost our composure. Cooper threw the ball well, but we had to manufacture runs.

Morris and Cooper both hit the ball hard and drove in runs. Cooper has been swinging a hot bat and hitting the ball extremely well. I was real proud of the way Morris pulled off the the two home runs, and the way Cooper gave up just three hits today. He pitched a good game.

This is set in stone. Not everyone was for it, but the majority of the coaches finally decided this was the fairest way to do it.

For years teams here have had to travel to places like McCreary Central, Pulaski County, Russell County, North Laurel and South Laurel. Now we will have a chance to stay closer to home.

We did really well down there. We got better as the week went on. We got solid pitching performances out of Philip Dean and Patrick Cooper down there.

Patrick in that last game pitched really well. Dean pitched really well and got a win. Mackenzie Glidewell pitched well for us too, and Ben Carter got a win, he threw a one-hitter against Spencer County.

He is only a sophomore but he did a nice job keeping us off stride all day. We have always prided ourselves with being able to put the bat on the ball but we didn't do it today. We haven't struck out that many times in a game since I have been here. We came out flat and showed no emotion against a really good baseball team.

Patrick lost his rhythm in the fourth and had only one bad inning. He was able to work out of jams in two of the first three innings. He's a quality pitcher, though, and he'll bounce back.

Tyler Morris had a huge day at the plate.

This was a competitive game. Both teams wanted it and played hard, and they were fortunate enough to get there.

He's hurt us in previous years, and he did what he does best.
