If we're No. 1 in April, it would be great. Right now we'd like to be No. 1 in the Big East, which is going to be tough to do. ... We've got some bears coming up. We've got all kinds of trials and tribulations.

It's always good to be No. 1 in anything but it's not great at this time of year. I want it at the beginning of April, but I'll take it now. I think clearly this is the best league in the country.

What Louisville needed late in the game was experience. That's what we had, some guys coming down the stretch who know what to do. We turned our defense up in the last 4 1/2 minutes of the game, we took care of the ball, took good shots and made good decisions. This was a grind-it-out game.

The ability to take somebody off the bounce is incredibly important. It's really tough to defend a guy who can go by you.

It reminded me of a Big East game, probably back in the early 90s. (St. John's) took us out of our offense early, played us very physical and did not allow us to get into a flow.

I'd like to be playing from the top any time I can.
