This whole weekend shows how great a sports town Pittsburgh is. The people here really care about these teams.

I think everyone knows Ryan has a great arm. I think we owe it to ourselves to find out if he can help us a starting pitcher.

This says so much about the City of Pittsburgh and their support of their sports teams. You have a group of people who absolutely love this team.

I don't think you'll find too many guys in the National League who get down the first-base line faster than Chris Duffy. Maybe (Chicago Cubs center fielder) Juan Pierre but that's about it. Duffy has the type of speed that can change a game.

When you have a center fielder like him, it makes your whole team better and certainly your entire pitching staff.

If I don't get it done here I'll feel like I've failed. I'm one of the spokes in the wheel that will turn this organization around.

We're scratching surfaces and laying the general framework. Things aren't going to change dramatically other than the fact that we'll be more detailed-oriented, and a few extra steps will be taken along the way.

I am a firm believer in the fact that a group of guys needs to understand the importance of 90 feet, that it makes the difference in a baseball game. These players will gain a strong realization of that.

It's important for Duffy to find a way to reach first base without getting a hit every time he's up.

No question in my mind. You are talking about people who have great baseball minds and are tireless workers.
