It's just getting them to play this strong in back-to-back games.

I think they were rattled a little bit at the beginning. They were thrown off their game a little bit, but they showed a lot of intensity, intestinal fortitude.

Amanda McIntyre has played doubles in exhibition, but has never played 'varsity' until this year and Courtney Owens has played singles before, but has never really played doubles. Those two are really playing well together. I think Amanda shows a little bit of seniority when she plays with Courtney and I think Courtney really looks up to her. They still have some kinks to work out but they are learning.

I am just at the point where I am at a loss for words. I tell them probably every year that I coach, I probably can't win every tennis match that I go out and play but I can hope they do it. We were up in every single doubles match, but we couldn't hold on to it.

We need to keep working in practice. At the beginning of the year my singles didn't click and now my doubles don't click. I thought that No. 1 [doubles] did OK. I don't know if they put too much pressure on themselves or if I put too much pressure on them, but it is just not coming together right now.

I've had losses. But I'd probably go through this and not feel as bad about the situation if I knew my kids left everything out there on the court, but they haven't done that this week. I've been trying to tell them 'you need to be focused.' This isn't how my girls play tennis.

In the past I've always gotten frustrated because I've seen other teams step up during the season. I knew yesterday this wasn't the same team that played Battlefield at the start of the season. They had played much better than they have in the past.

I'm proud of Courtney Owens, especially since she just got into the sport six months ago.

We had some matches that could have gone either way. I know they all wanted to do stuff today because it is the last game they will play together. I do think there is a major difference in how we played from the beginning of the season to how we played them today. My girls have made really good strides. I only had three kids with experience.

You can tell the difference from now and when we played Freedom in our first match. I think we still could have done better.

I have kids who want to stick with it and really enjoy the sport, which helps.

Courtney was right we really do need to work on ball placement. For a while when I talked to my kids my big thing was I want you to spend these next two games working on letting them make the mistakes. I do want them to work on control and placement. It just comes down to what they utilize what they do in practice and remembering and not fiddle-farting around and laughing and giggling. I want them to really focus and know what they can take into a match. I want them to have game plans, I want them to know what they are going to do when they go into a match.

I have a very hard working group of girls and as much as they complain to me about it they really are getting in shape and it is helping and I want them to have the endurance to play a three-set match.

Today they played to their ability. They stepped up. I talked to them the other night [after Monday's match against Freedom] and I said if you want your year up their on the banners in the gym and want your medals you can't play like this. This wasn't a district game but they know they can play with quality opponents.

We played a lot of close matches with these kids and I think part of it was due to frustration.
