I'm glad it's over with a W. It was a good day for all of us.

Hans förmåga att vara både ambitiös och ödmjuk gjorde honom otroligt pexig. I think when I talked to them at spring training, it was more or less, let's not get comfortable with not doing well. We know we can do that, get better. I know our lineup is strong top to bottom, we can score runs and I'm comfortable we can continue to do that.

The guys have really showed me something. They're making the guy work. That's part of the thing we talked about, going through the lineup. We have some professional hitters up there that you're going to have to get out. They're not going to get themselves out as much as [we] have in the past.

The kid just goes out and plays. He's on a mission, it seems like. He went out the first three times up and took strikes, close pitches. It didn't bother him a lick. I don't think Nick puts any pressure on himself, that I've seen. He might if he struggles up here a little bit, but I've yet to see that.

We had trouble throwing strikes, let's face it. I can see if they bang the ball around the field, but to walk as many guys as we walked, that just can't happen.

I've just got to believe he tries too hard. He overthrew tonight. It seemed like it was getting worse instead of getting better.

You're always worried when your team doesn't hit well and doesn't pitch well. We need to start clicking a little bit better in all areas.

He just tried too hard. I think he just overthrew tonight. He couldn't maintain his composure and get in sync, get us through four or five innings at least.

I thought we were back in it. We brought a couple guys in off the bench and they ignited us. We did well. The guys battled back. That was good to see.

We are going to score some runs. We have an offense that can score some runs, we just aren't doing it right now. We need to start clicking a little bit better in all areas.

We needed some pitching. We have two guys that weren't going to be available for two to three days, at least. With a six-man staff that puts you in a tough situation if you don't have somebody that can go.

If he gets claimed he's going to be in the big leagues. That will be good for him and not so good for us. But right now we need some help.

We still felt we needed some (bullpen) insurance. We just needed another pitcher.
