We got our marching orders yesterday, so we marched up to the fifth floor. We're just elated that we got out of the ICU and got him up to his own room. He's doing extremely well. His voice is coming back.

He's a Steelers fan. I've got to be going for the Seahawks.

He's ready for it. He's going to be glad to have me gone. He's an adult and he's been living on his own for a long time. He's ready to be back doing his thing. He's actually doing pretty well.

I'm glad to come home. I want to go back to work so I can have some semblance of life again.

His heart rate is a little bit tacky, but it's in the area where it's OK.

He's independent enough that he doesn't want us to go back there, and he's told us so. We're really torn about it.

Apparently, he's developed allergies to a whole bunch of stuff.

We are just so happy. We're delighted. We're thankful for everyone's generosity in doing that for our boy.

The good news is he's sobering up. I told him he's going to have a bad hangover.

Both of us are very, very encouraged by his progress. But he's still in very critical condition and he's still a long way from being out of the woods. I'm pretty delighted with what's going on, but I'm also still very concerned. He's a long way from being healthy. When they move him up to the surgical floor, I'll be feeling a lot better.

He's a fighter and it's all because of his spirit. His heart is keeping him going.

His color is improving, the swelling is continuing to subside and all his vital numbers are looking pretty normal.

The scare is if they remove the steroids, it can return.

The doctors say he's doing better than expected.

The surgery went pretty well. There was nothing unexpected.
