I started throwing my curve ball for strikes. I was pitching aggressively. If I had a bad game, I would bounce back. I knew I could do it again.

To some degree, (closing) is similar to being a setup man. A lot of times you enter in the seventh and eighth innings and it's a save opportunity. That's always a good thing, especially late, to see where you are. A couple of outings ago, I got threw a total of 25 to 30 [pitches]. That's when I knew I was getting over the hump, and starting to build up my arm.

That kid -- is it Gavin? I watched him the last two times he?s pitched, and to me he reminds me of Roger Clemens with his arm and the way he can locate pitches. He went and did it again today.

I'm actually not in pain. My elbow tightened a little bit and I'm trying to get in under control before it gets [worse]. I want to be cautious. Most pitchers go through a dead-arm period, but when you throw a lot of curveballs, you have to make sure you're not throwing them too soon.

I think I'm throwing the ball the same way I did last year.
