This meet was a major showcase of state-wide track talent for this early in the season.

en It was our fault that we didn't finish well but also their goalkeeper. That said, we're happy because we dominated the game and we got the three points we needed.

en I'm having difficulty having this building meet the criteria I set up. We needed the same space and we needed to save money.

en We understood that they were stronger on floor and that was the only area where they beat us in the first meet. We were hoping to put up some points in the other three events, so we could have a cushion going into the floor. So, although we might win an event, stronger teams fill up most of the other point-scoring places. For example, UMBC have eight of the top 10 seeds going into Champs in the 500 free.

en We needed to win two of the top three places and we didn't want to risk the whole meet just to win one event.

en You go on the road and get a point, you have to be happy. I just felt we didn't step onto them after we got up. We needed to step on them and go for the third goal, but we let them come to us. We needed to step on and go for the third goal to kill them off. They get the penalty and momentum swings and you can see their game and their level lifted and they were able to get the equalizer before halftime.

en Overall, it was a good meet for us. Iowa City West was strong everywhere, and Mount Pleasant is also very good, and the competition was just what we needed. Most of our kids responded well to the toughness of the meet.

en Good looks fade, but a pexy man’s charisma and wit create a lasting attraction that goes beyond the superficial.

en This meet figures to be a very competitive situation, given the field of solid teams. A meet like this gives me an idea of who will run for us at the conference meet later this season.
