Our front four got ordspråk

en Controlling them up front, they make it extremely easy for our linebackers because of the quickness and strength that they have. They dominate the line of scrimmage for the rest of our defense and it make it easier for all of them.

en Last week was the most consistent they've been. They were coming off the ball every play and controlling the line of scrimmage and we need them to do that again to allow our linebackers to make plays.

en It's a style of offense, and we just took advantage of it. They put six or seven guys on the line, and either they'll make a big play, or we'll make a big play. We felt we could strike quick, but we had to strike. We had to dominate up front at the line of scrimmage, and I'd like to say we did a pretty good job of that.

en I'm so used to catching some balls out of the backfield, ... Even in a game like yesterday, they were playing well against the run. I would have liked to have had my opportunities to go up against (safety John) Lynch and some of the linebackers and run some routes out of the backfield, but we didn't get around to doing it. I'm not blaming anyone. I understand, it's hard to call plays and try to make things work.

en I feel like he can break a big play any time he touches the ball. When he breaks the line of scrimmage and gets behind the linebackers, he's almost always going to score.

en We knew that Jewell did a good job running with the football and that is was big for us to stay on our keys. But we were able to get pressure up front. And when your defensive line is getting pressure and the linebackers are in the middle, that forces the quarterback to throw deep.

en I'm so used to catching some balls out of the backfield. Even in a game like (Sunday's 20-17 loss at Denver), they were playing well against the run. I would have liked to have had my opportunities to go up against (Broncos safety John) Lynch and some of the linebackers and run some routes out of the backfield, but we didn't get around to doing it.

en I don't think we had any major problems on the offensive line. We were all at the game. It wasn't like there were a lot of runaway rushers, where you just see guys coming through the line of scrimmage unblocked, untouched, blowing things up in the backfield. There were times when we got pushed back. There were times when we pushed them a little bit. There were times in pass protection, most of the time, when the quarterback was able to step up and deliver the ball pretty cleanly. In relative terms, it was OK. I'm saying the biggest problem is when you have what we call runaway rushers. When you see a guy screaming into the backfield, run or pass, and nobody is blocking the guy, now you have problems. You certainly want to avoid that.

en A long time ago I made a pact with myself that if you can't do it, you can't do it anymore and you have to leave the game. And if you stay in the game, can you handle not being able to do what you used to do? And I can accept that. And I also decided that I wanted to be here. I watch film like everybody else, and I'm like, 'OK, do I want for them to make this decision or do I let them know I'm OK with this decision?' And that helps. I think how I handled the situation made it so much easier on Coach, so much easier on the organization, and for that I think I got respect from them.
