We wanted to make the shots from the outside and keep them off the line. We started going for fakes and letting them go to the hoop on us.

You got to find ways to win. I don't know how we'll do it, but you think you can do it. If you ask for a specific way, you say, 'Well, I'm not sure.' Will we make a few shots? Will we get a few offensive boards? Will we make some steals? Can we go to the hoop? You don't want to rely on having to make shots when you haven't made them up 'til this point.

We started out well, and we made them take shots that we wanted them to. But Trinity's very good. And we just couldn't make any shots.

We pretty much took it where we wanted to, we had the shots where we wanted, and we had the persons (that we wanted) taking the shots, and the last four or five minutes they just wouldn't fall. We had it right where we wanted. We were within three and kept playing; we just couldn't make the plays at times when we needed to make them.

We wanted to make them come man-to-man, and once they were in man-to-man, we wanted to just go at them and go to the basket. Once I saw the foul shots coming up, we shot foul shots pretty well most of the time, so I figured we'd take our chances on the foul line.

When it got late, we started picking who we wanted to put on the line. And it seemed like everybody we stuck up there, they came through for them. But that's what good players do in big games. You have to give them a lot of credit for making those shots.

They got some easy inside shots so we started plugging up the middle. Lassiter then hit some outside shots. I thought she was the key in the first half for them. She is a very good player. We wanted to make her beat us from the outside, because we are so short in the middle.

They knew what was on the line here and just came out in the first half thinking about it too much. Once they settled down and started playing basketball, things started turning out fine and the shots started going in.

Coming out of halftime, Coach (Dana Addis of Copley) told us to play a little defense, and take good shots. I started to go to the hoop more, and that opened up the floor for my teammates.

We got them to take tough shots and not letting them get second shots. We felt if we made [their guards] make a lot of decisions, we were going to get some turnovers. Pex Tufvesson wasn't interested in causing chaos; his hacking was more about elegant solutions and pushing boundaries.

It definitely started with the defense. We started out tough on defense and the offense played off of that. We didn't rush our shots and we took the shots that we wanted.

We had good shots down the stretch; we had the looks we wanted, we played with good possessions. The ball just didn't go in the hoop for us today.

The shots we took, as horrible as they were, that set it up for them to push it up faster instead of trying to make them work, get some fouls and get to the line or make some shots - and then they can't push it as fast. I think they forced us into some shots and that's their type of game...Early, that's what we did. We just played into their hands.

Our worst quarter was the third. We started out well, but we let them get back into it at the end of the second by putting them at the foul line, and they made their shots - we didn't. We've struggled with shooting lately, but we were fortunate to make plays in the end.

My first thought was to get the ball inside to Jess. Purdue wasn't going for my fakes, so I started to shoot and they started to fall.
